Salary: $63,500-$79,300

Description of Job Duties:
The Senior Research Analyst is a key individual within PCBB’s Lending Department that manages a spectrum of responsibilities related to PCBB’s Shared National Credit loan program. Key responsibilities include underwriting and monitoring the borrowers that are part of PCBB’s “universe” (i.e., borrowers that PCBB has sold to our client banks, borrowers that PCBB has purchased for our own portfolio, borrowers that PCBB is monitoring as prospects, etc.) and coordinating information between PCBB and our client banks. A Senior Research Analyst will also contribute in other areas of Lending, such as training other analysts, researching credit-related topics, etc. A Senior Research Analyst (AVP) has a strong ability to perform their work independently and pro-actively, has a good working knowledge of commercial lending, and exhibits strong communication skills both within the Bank and externally with clients. 
Duties and responsibilities may include:
  • Identifies and gathers the relevant documentation and information needed to evaluate a loan request (or to assess the performance of an existing loan). This may include managing communication to individuals both within and external to PCBB. 
  • Researches background information and reviews business financial statements and other reports and sources of information (as applicable and as available).
  • Assesses the credit quality of new loan requests and existing loans based financial statements and other relevant information pertaining to the loan. This presentation will be in a written format in accordance with PCBB’s best practices.
  • Requests and obtains financial statements on borrowers and related entities, particularly as prescribed in loan documents for existing loans; properly handles file tracking and file saving in accordance with Bank practices.
  • Builds financial models for business borrowers, as appropriate.
  • Reviews loan files to ensure that all loan covenants have been met and that all collateral has been secured properly.
  • Follows all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide training and guidance to others within PCBB and to clients/prospects, as opportunities arise
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Ability to serve as the primary PCBB contact for client banks and to manage client relationships on behalf of PCBB’s Lending Team and the overall Bank
  • Ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office applications (particularly Outlook, Word, Excel)
Education/Experience Requirements:
  • At least four years of bank credit experience
  • Deep experience with C&I lending
  • Excellent knowledge of business financial statements and related reports
  • Strong background in writing and other communication styles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Accounting/Finance and/or equivalent experience.
